DCA Trustees Unanimously Oppose Route 62 Gravel Pit Expansion into Franklin County

At their November 3 monthly meeting, the Trustees of the Darby Creek Association unanimously passed the following resolution:

Darby Creek Association asks that the permit request of the existing Gravel Pit on Route 62 in Pickaway County to expand into Franklin County be denied. Darby Creek Association wants to reinforce the position that no new gravel pits should open in the Darby Creek watershed in Franklin County. Such a position will help conservation organizations obtain easements and other conservation rights within Franklin County by reducing the amount of ecologically damaging surface mining. In particular, we support Metroparks interest in purchasing land in this area.
