Important Big Darby Creek meetings

Several critical meetings related to Big Darby Creek protection are coming up!

1) TMDL - June 16 - Ohio EPA will hold a public meeting to discuss the draft TMDL (Total Maximum Daily Load) report on June 16 at the Madison County Engineers Office, 825 U.S. 42 N.E., London, OH 43140. The meeting will begin at 6:30 P.M.

2) Darby Accord - Public Meeting, Tuesday, June 21, 2005

Location: Alton Hall Elementary School, 1000 Alton Road

Time/Format: 5:00 pm Informal Open House with Displays
7:00 pm Presentation
7:45 pm Breakout Discussion Sessions
9:00 pm Adjournment

A website has been established for the project, which addresses development threats in western Franklin County. As the project unfolds, maps, technical reports, and other information will be added to the site. The website also allows for submission of comments and contact information by anyone interested in the Accord process.

A project phone line has also been established at 462-5629 for those who do not have web access.

3) Metro Parks - Metro Parks is holding an open house June 22 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cedar Ridge Lodge at the Battelle- Darby Creek Metro Park to get public input on its Strategic Plan for the Big Darby Watershed. This 20-year plan includes an area from Plain City to Harrisburg. It involves everything from land acquisition to resource management to education.
